LUMS inviting PhD program0222

Feb 22, 2022

The Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) at LUMS is inviting applications from international students to its PhD program.

SBASSE is a private research school in Pakistan and an integral part of the country’s scientific and engineering research landscape. The SBASSE is home to a vibrant research and training program at the doctoral level supported by independent yet closely connected research groups that are led by inspiring faculty. The interdisciplinary research and education program is loosely organized into six departments:
    Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
    Computer Science
    Electrical Engineering

The program aspires to attract the brightest young scientists and engineers. Students are provided a conducive research and innovation environment marked by excellence in teaching, world-class research labs, internationally recognized faculty, career development opportunities, research mobility, and international collaborations.
Our university LUMS, a not-for-profit private university, is situated in Lahore. The city is regarded as the cultural capital of Pakistan with a very rich history of arts, architecture, and local cuisine. LUMS is a residential campus and offers a holistic university-life experience ranging from sports facilities to student-run societies. Work-life balance, diversity, and mental health are essential parts of the culture at LUMS.
Regional cooperation between academic institutions in our part of the world is relatively rare for a variety of reasons. But this isolation is exactly what makes it a perfect opportunity to expand in the region. The international PhD program is part of a wider campaign to establish partnerships.
With this background, we request support in disseminating the call inviting applicants to our PhD program from around the developing world.
