Science Support Office of the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling

The Consortium is organising a Side Event connected to the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice (UNOC3). The event is scheduled in VIllefrance-Sur-Mer the week before the UNOC3, when the One Ocean Science Conference will take place.

The purpose of the Side Event is to gain visibility and interest from the wider oceanography community, which is too often unaware of the role of the Seafloor in the functioning of oceanic basins, besides the implications for climate change (past climate), resources, hazards, and how much our knowledge depends on the ~70 years of existence of scientific ocean drilling.
